Improving Your Credit Score

MobileFocus aims to help people with poor credit get a mobile phone. While it's great that you now have this option, we know that you don't want to have to rely on a site like ours forever. It would obviously be better to improve your credit score at the same time so that you can apply for a normal mobile contract the next time around.

There are a few basic principles you should follow if you want to improve your credit score. The first, is to make sure you are making more money than you are spending. To figure this out, it can be helpful to create a budget. If you find that you are spending more than you are making, you will need to either find a way to cut back on your expenses or increase your income. Once you have that done, you'll want to decrease your debt as much as possible. If you have any loans out, try and make larger payments on them to pay them back sooner. The less debt you have, the better your credit score will be.

Another important step is to always pay your bills on time. Late or missed payments can have serious effects on your credit score, especially if they occur frequently. If it helps, right down when payments are due on a calendar to remind yourself. Always make sure you have enough money to pay them back when they are due.

Lastly, use your credit cards wisely. Don't max them out, but also don't keep them tucked away. Try to spend thirty to seventy percent of your credit limit, and again, always pay it back on time. If you can do all of these things, you should see a rise in your credit score over time.
